  • Poster project overview/intent/audience: This project of 10 posters, developed by the Statewide Master Gardener Program and funded by the Elvinia J. Slosson Foundation, is to be used by master gardener volunteers at fairs, nurseries, farmer's markets, etc. The topics address ANR core issues and are intended to provide the master gardeners, statewide, with a consistent message based on UC research. The audience is the general California gardening public. The poster is intended to be brief with great illustrations and few words, to draw people in to ask more questions of the master gardeners. It is not a stand-alone piece, but supported by master gardener knowledge, interaction and the "tip sheet."
Each poster is composed of 3 panels. Each panel is 11" x 14" and will be printed in color and laminated at the county office. The laminated posters can be affixed to a table-top display board. To maintain a uniform style, the posters will be designed and illustrated by a professional illustrator. They will also be translated to Spanish.

Each poster package will include the following components and be posted on the Statewide Master Gardener Program's web site:

    • A 3-panel poster in English and Spanish
    • A 1-2-page list of internet and publication resources intended for the master gardeners to research and learn more about the topic. We are limiting these to UC resources, unless they do not adequately cover the topic.
    • A 1-2-page "tip sheet" in English and Spanish, to be distributed to those who want to know more than the poster tells them.
    • A PowerPoint presentation.
    • Graphic files used in the poster.
